In this second example we will integrate the audio and lighting control to manage through smartphone and tablet.
The heart of this proposal is LM5, an interface that transforms OSC commands in DMX frame to control devices that support this protocol. The OSC commands are generated by OSCILLATION, a software designed by Equipson that, based on a layout created and edited by the user, allows to creates an intuitive control environment with great potential.
LIGHTING
In this example, It has been centralized lighting control of 6 zones in a single device. WD 616D KMT is a 6-channel of 10A load each, analog and DMX dimmer. Each channel has circuit breaker protection and even faders for manual operation of each individual channel.
Its standard format rack 19 "will allow placement (together with other devices that will be showing in subsequent examples) in a rack where all wiring and connections are centralized.
AUDIO
In this case we keep the audio from the bedroom to give it independence with the rest of the installation.
In the remaining two zones will be placed SL 300 amplifiers. This stereo amplifier can withstand a load of 2 x 150W into 4 ohms (by NEO 8 speakers). It can be handled by an analog potentiometer or DMX signal. The last method is the one we will implement.
An external audio source is added, in this case MULTIPLAYER 5, a CD player and that also incorporates USB/SD interface to external files, AM/FM radio and microphone/LINE inputs .
The accompanying diagram shows the connection of the whole. Based on the L and R signal from MULTIPLAYER 5, both audio channels are wired in every room apart from both SLAs join a network DMX dimmer WD 616D KMT. 300 SLA requires one DMX channel for the starting and gain, which each room amplifier is set to a different channel.
LM 5 (Control)
Installing LM 5 in this environment is very simple. You only need a WiFi access in the house that has a LAN port for connecting the LM 5 with a standard RJ 45 Cable. Thus, installing the software OSCILLATION on your smartphone or tablet with Android and loading the layout accompanying this example, you can control the audio and lighting from anywhere in the house (provided you have adequate coverage Wifi).
Once paired both devices (smartphone and LM 5) and executing OSCILLATION software, it shows the screen layout:
This layout is designed using standard OSC commands for handling each DMX channel.
At the top we can see six faders for each one of the areas where precise control lighting (corresponding to DMX channels 1 to 6). Sliding your finger along the corresponding fader we can control the intensity of each area.
The following 4 buttons are configured as presets, allowing, from left to right, turn all zones to a maximum of 50%, turn 3 selected areas to maximum and turn off the 6 channels.
The audio control of areas is performed with the following rotary knobs, one for each zone (assigned to the channels 7 and 8). Acting on them, we can turn on and adjust the volume of the speakers.
This is a layout of example and that, thanks to the flexibility of the OSC protocol, can be edited at will by the user according to the requirements of the facility or its management convenience, allowing you to add functionality to areas or buttons, faders, etc. .
NOTE: This layout is created for use with Android and Windows OSCILLATION software. in the relationship links this example, the layout for IOS, which would require other software for handling, is included.
The devices used in the installation proposed in this post are:
CONTROL ONE, HOME AMP, IC 511T, WD 616D KMT, Multiplayer 5 NEO 8, SLA 300, LM 5, OSCillation
