Bling Bling is the new club of Barcelona city. It has been created to become a reference in one of the most visited cities in Europe. Design & decoration of the club has been made with very special details, like the Ice cube LED screen where LEDANDSOUND, the company who installed the screen, chose SUPERDOT LED fixtures from WORK (Equipson) and several DMX NET 8 (an 8 universes ArtNet node) to make a pixel by pixel DMX screen. SUPERDOT RGB is a fixture composed of 4 high intensity RGB LEDs (SMD) built in a plastic enclosure, designed for fast installation.
The owners of the club wanted an Ice cube effect, which suddenly can be turned into an amazing LED screen, where each ?Ice cube? (20x20 cm) is a RGB pixel. That is why a SUPERDOT RGB fixture has been placed behind each cube.
The final effect is very spectacular and makes Bling Bling a unique place which actually surprises any customers. Installation has been made cabling pixel by pixel, using the Auto DMX addressing feature built-in in the SUPERDOT RGB controller. This simplifies a lot the system because each fixture is able to get its own address by testing itself which fixture is before in the line. Then, the fixture decides to auto-address the next DMX available address, avoiding extra job of address everyone, but also removing mistakes from use the wrong fixture in the wrong position.
More than 2000 pixelsThe hard part of the job was to install a SUPERDOT on each single cube ? with more than 2000 pixels. Each SUPERDOT controller controls up to 16 pixels, it means that LEDANDSOUND used a good number of them (more than 125) and the DMX auto-addressing feature that these controllers have were very useful to simplify the installation.
Each DMX-NET 8 sends the information received to the 8 universes but also has a backup video data into the 1GByte built-in memory, for unexpected system fails. That video data can be triggered through the DMX input using just 3 channels.
